We would hereby kindly like to inform you that The South African Federation of Trade Unions (SAFTU) has called for a nationwide strike on Thursday, the 24th of February.
The strike action will coincide with finance minister Tito Mboweni’s budget speech and will focus on a mass ‘stay-away’ of workers around the country, in response to the increasing unemployment rates, poverty, and other economic grievances facing the country.
Furthermore, the trade union may hold protest marches in major cities which may cause service disruptions in the industry.
