MSC has announced an Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) on cargo moving from ScanBaltic, UK/NWC, West Med, Canary Islands, Adriatic, Greece, Turkey and East Mediterranean to South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia, with revised USD/TEU rates effective from 16 March 2026 and increasing again from 30 March 2026 due to Middle East conflict-driven fuel and bunker cost escalation.
