Following recent events in Iran and surrounding territories, marine insurers have issued 7 days’ notice of cancellation for War, Strikes, Riots and Civil Commotions (WSRCC) risks, effective GMT midnight on 12 March 2026.
This applies to the following high-risk regions:
• Iran and Iranian waters including coastal waters up to 12 nautical miles offshore
• Persian Gulf / Arabian Gulf and adjacent waters
• Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and defined Indian Ocean boundaries
Underwriters are currently offering reinstatement of marine war cover for these territories subject to additional premium. Should cover be required, arrangements must be made prior to attachment of risk.
