The Department of Trade and Industry and Competition has issued a notice dated 17 February 2026 of extension for the commenting on Export Regulation of Chrome Ores under HS Code 2610.00
“On 03 October 2025, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition issued the notice in the gazette (Notice No. 53467), informing stakeholders and interested parties of cabinet decision aimed at reviving South Africa’s chrome industry and to invite public comments on the intention to place chrome ore, classifiable under tariff subheading 2610.00, under export control by the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (“the Commission”)”.
All exporting clients of chrome ores are requested to provide their comments within 2 weeks of this Notice.
