This update – the 64th of its kind – contains a consolidated overview of the South African supply chain and the current state of international trade. This week’s newly reported COVID-19 infections are just about on par with last week, averaging around 275 per day (↓1% from last week’s average of 278). Also, the positivity rate has hovered around an encouraging 1% for the week. It would seem that we are in the middle of a trough between waves, and we can only hope that the expected fourth wave will be a lot less severe than the first three.
