a) Please take note of the below tariff amendment published by SARS which is effective as of 5 December 2025:
Amendment to Schedule 1 Part 1:
Substitution of tariff subheadings 1701.12, 1701.13, 1701.14, 1701.91 and 1701.99, to increase the rate of customs duty on sugar from 364.68c/kg to 436.38c/kg in terms of the existing variable tariff formula (ITAC Minute 08/2025).
b) Notice 3649: Applications for Rebate Permits under Schedule 4 for rebate of duty on Polybutadiene-Styrene Rubber under Heading 40.02
Applications for permits must be addressed to the International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC), Private Bag X 753, Pretoria, or delivered by hand to the DTI Campus, (Block E), 77 Meintjies Street, Sunnyside, Pretoria, 0002 or sent electronically via e-mail to Mrs K.
